Weekly TD-SCDMA Update October 6 - 12
October 09, 2008
- China's government recently announced that a frequency range of 1880-1920MHz, which is currently allocated for China's PHS (Personal Hand-phone System), also known as Xiao Ling Tong, will be re-allocated for China's homegrown TD-SCMDA. In fact, the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) has reserved 55 MHz spectrum for China's homegrown TD-SCMDA, including 1880-1920MHz and 2010-2025MHz bands. Despite China Mobile's wish to use 1880-1920MHz  band by year-end 2008, further details regarding when China Telecom and China Netcom will vacate such band for China Mobile were not yet revealed though.
